Results of Treatment
Speak to your doctor about your expectations from your treatment for premature ejaculation (PE). It is not always about time – lasting longer in bed or longer sex. The aim of treatment is to help you gain control of ejaculation, delay ejaculation (take a longer time to come) and to restore a satisfactory sexual experience for you and your partner. In return this could improve sex or achieve better sex and may help attain complete intimacy in your relationship, bringing you and your partner closer together.
If you have a regular sexual partner, perhaps consider involving them in choosing treatments to suit your individual needs.
Some people may expect that once they have overcome the problem of PE, all other sexual and relationship difficulties will disappear. This is true when all the issues arise directly from PE. If other sexual and/ or relationship difficulties exist, you may be guided by your doctor to see a sex and/ or relationship therapist.
Treatments won’t cure PE, but they can help you have more control over ejaculation and leading to better sex.
